View Full Version : Aftermarket Pumps & Hydraulic motors for scag

I may have to replace a hydraulic motor or a pump on my 52" scag wildcat. I was wondering if anyone has used another brand instead of the scag brand. I think the steins is like 400ish where the scag is like 700ish. Any info would be helpful.

The pumps and wheel motors in a Scag Wildcat are made by Hydro Gear. A lot of manufacturers use this brand. I've never heard of tht other brand, I'd go with the brand Scag uses.

Bailey...Do yourself a favor and go with the original Scag Hydro Gear pump. I have been there and done that. Just replaced my right side pump on my Tiger Cub. $470.00. Even the belts I buy are genuine scag..cost a little more but thay last a lot longer.

I replaced my hydro pumps on my TT myself. I did not change the wheel motors, just flushed the system. I got my pumps from Pats small engine for about $450 each. I would use the Hydro Gear pumps.

i had a scag and had to replace wheel motors note after 2000 hours i found some hydro gear at burdon for 189 had to weld new mounts but 189 insted of 550. the 1that i had came with parker motors scag may have changed later on it was a 2002 mower
