Hello I have a 2005 Fastrak 52" with the 20HP Kohler engine. Today I noticed the breather tube on the port side of the maching pretty much falling off. I noticed it rub against the hydro control assembly and I believe Hustler knows about the close tolerance here as they have a fabric type guard over the port side breather tube. I suppose to prevent or slow the friction from rubbing through the vent.

This seems like a strange engineering oversight in what otherwise seems to be a very well engineered machine.

Is is possible to install a 45 degree fitting so that the breather tube misses the control assembly? Is Hustler aware of this issue.

Mine is well worn and I need to do something as it will fall off soon.

Thanks for any suggestions on this issue.

We are aware of the tight tolerance, that is why we have the guard over that hose.
Check your belt tension, this reduces the issue.
As to installing a 45 degree fitting, I am not sure about this, I will ask the guys in the know.
