Getting ready to book my trip again this year to the GIE Expo. Anyone already booked their hotel?
Had a great time the last 2 years and look forward to another one this year. If you haven't been, you are missing out. It is a ton of fun and there are even prizes and give-aways.

I finished up my reservations for the 2010 GIE Expo this morning. I decided to stay at the Seelbach Hilton this time. It's a definite splurge, but it's right in the middle of everything and a shuttle stop to the Expo.
Hope to catch up with some of you this time!
Oh yeah, bes sure to fill out any drawing cards you see. I'll tell you more about that soon.

Now I can let the cat out of the bag! I was the winner of the drawing by Everride in October at the GIE expo. I won a Wasp walk-behind of my choice. We needed a 36 more than a 48 or 52 so I went with the small unit. I went to the factory today to get a tour, and to receive my new mower. I was very impressed with every phase of the operation. I was treated royally, and am amazed to have won something at all. I never win anything!! LOL!! Here are some pics I want to share....

cool pics, i had to work or i would have gone too. everride are some really nice machines. only the walk behinds and standers are similar to other brands, the warriors and other ztrs are all unique and very well built and cut very nice. the tunnel deck handles wet grass very well(on the warrior). we are going to be cutting with this new walkbehind soon!

I have been very happy with my everride scorpion, I bought it partly based on your advice and I have been very happy with it. Keep us posted on how you guys like the walkbehind. If you guys like it I may go and win one next year:cool2:

Congratulations on your new machine, it's very nice !! Just one question though ... it looks like it's exactly like the Lesco 36" Hydro that I bought, I got a 2008 model ... could it be that Lesco has, or had, Everride build their machines for them before JD acquired Lesco ?? Or conversely, could Everride still be building the Lesco machines ??

I actually bought a 36" WAsp Hydro a few years ago. I coupled it with a Bull Rider sulky and just never liked the way it handled. SO I traded it on a 34" Scorpion FX. LOVE it! Of course I have my Warrior as well. The everrides are AWESOME machines. The discharge on your mower looks larger than the discharge I had on mine. Maybe they've changed the deck....Looking to buy another new Warrior this fall/winter.

The Warriors are great machines. I have 4 Warriors in our fleet right now.
Many brands are produced at this factory including Lesco, Great Dane, Everride, Gravely...to name a few...

Around that, I've had some people tell me between $ 3,999 and $4,899 ... the higher end of that range must be a dealer looking to make a killing !!

I don't know about the new model year but 09 lesco, gravely, great dane and everride walk behinds and stand-on machines were all the same machine with different paint.

I am planning on attending. Since it is an hour away, I will be sleeping in my bed. I am very new to the lawn care trade, professionally. Doing it on the side and trying to spend some time learning. So, the expo is an hour away and should be plenty to learn.

You'll miss a lot of fun if you don't make it to 4th St. Live after the Expo on Thursday and Friday nights. The past few years have been fun with excellent live music sponsored by companies showing their products at the Expo. AND..it's free!!!!!!!

It's definitely worth it in my books. You'll probably see more equipment (toys) than you can imagine. You can visit with the manufacturer, peers, and dealers. It's all hands on outside. New and shiney inside.
I would suggest going no matter what size your company is.

The food at the Expo isn't too bad, but kinda pricey as expected. If you go downtown for the concerts, there are some good choices there. No worries about eating if you have transportation.

I just gotta say, this is the WORST time of the year for me to go a long distance to an expo. Fall clean ups, firewood, aeration, last minute landscape installs = the BUSIEST time of the year for me.

I know I have until tomorrow at noon to pre-register to get in at the 10$ fee just need to fax it in, but I have never been there and just want to make sure of something. The 10$ fee covers everyday of the expo and gets you on the floor and to the outdoor area as well correct.

Great time today at the Expo. Got to see the new changes on the Z-Sprays which are totally cool. Also spent time with Nathan with Plugr who has really been great. Also, Jeff with the Airens corporation took time to show me the new stuff. Great company and excellent new products!!!
More tomorrow......

Spent time today outside at the expo. I spent a chunk of the morning inside browsing until it warmed up a bit, then off to the outside playland!!! This show was really great! There was a big turnout today and the weather was perfect, even if slightly cool. I got to meet A-Plus Bob in Person!! Had a nice visit and share some laughs.
The big purchase was a magnamatic pro blade grinding setup. I'll be anxious to get it set up and hopefull get my guys to using it outside the back garage door. I think that will help reduce the dust in the shop, along with hooking it up to a vacuum.
I also ordered a Grass Stitcher. I think Grassman will be anxious to see how that works over the Gasrden Weasel.
I wish I could have met more Lawnsite guys there, but maybe next year??
Off to the homefront tomorrow as the toy store is closing tomorrow and it's back to reality....
