Does anyone know who makes diesel zero turns. If anyone has a diesel zero turn, how do they like it. Thanks.

I know exmark and dixie chopper make them. The exmark has a diahatsu diesel and the dixie chopper a yanmar.

I have two Grasshopper 428D's with the Kubota diesel engines. Lots of power and very easy on fuel. I also have a 92 Dodge pickup with the Cummins turbo diesel that has 260,000 miles on it. I love diesels.

I got to drive a encore diesel I did not really like it. I then got to drive a BLADERUNNER diesel! Now that is a machine! Never drove a diesel exmark or dixie chopper.

Grasshopper has been building diesel ZTR's longer than anyone I believe. I have two, a 428D and a 321D. Grasshopper uses Kubota diesels on all their diesel machines. Have tried the Dixie Chopper, and the Exmark. Both were very heavy compared to the Grasshoppers. I rank Grasshopper as the lightest, most quiet, and smoothest to operate. That is why I own 2 of them. The Dixie Chopper is not far behind, and the Exmark is a distant 3rd in my opinion. Bunton also has one, but it is VERY loud and rather underpowered. The new Kubota looks good, but have no experience with that machine.:)

We run Walker Diesels here. It has a Kubota engine. I don't think I would ever buy a gasser, after running the diesels.

Does anyone know what those walkers run in price? I was just at the site, and they look pretty good. thanks

i know the Gravely 260z has a diesel model.. don't count it out... Never priced one but wish I would have just to compare. It'd make the perfect mower for me...

Depending on the options the Walker runs in the neighborhood of 13K. Of course it goes up from there.

Currently we have three Scag Saber Tooth Tiger 72" with the B&S(Diahatsu) 31HP turbo diesels. They have been in use at a cemetery for the past year. They have been working out well. We plan to purchase more in the future for wire grass control in other parks, in conjunction with triplex reel mowers.

Ferris has just come out with a Diesel. It is the IS 5000. This mower has a 3 cylinder 31hp Catepillar diesel and four wheel suspension. It is awesome. The power is unreal. Definately demo one before you buy anything.

Saw a clipper elite the other day, it had a mitsubishi diesel in it. I was not really very impressed with the mower but the engine seemed nice.

I bought a Kubota ZD28 this season and am pleased with it so far. I'm approaching 200 hours with no problems. I get a day and 1/2 out of a tank of fuel. I did a review on the machine shortly after purchase that you can find on a search for "Kubota ZD28"
I got my 2nd Dixie Chopper diesel this year. It's a XWD 2600 with 60 inch deck. It has more power than my previous Kohler 25HP and uses two thirds of the fuel. It has pleny of power except when using with my Flex-Deck in heavy spring growth.

Go to the Ferris web site. There is a picture of the new IS5000 on there. I have had a chance to see this mower in action. It is awesome. www.ferrisindustries.com

I have a BLADERUNNER 32hp diesel with 1223 hrs. on her and zero problems just love the power and the speed. Mine has the lombardini four cylinder engine, it's quiet, fuel effecient and has almost no viberation. I will never buy gas again if I can help it!
