IDK but i think in Iowa we will have rain all day. The midwest has had too much rain in the last couple of days.

No kidding! This is ridiculous. The weatherman have sucked lately predicting rain here. I am way behind I guess its a downside of being solo!

I feel your alls pain, I woke up to thunder and lightning, and it was been pouring all morning long, doesnt look to let up all day either, It is also very very dark here, almost like night time, Ive never seen it this dark during the day before? I am caught up though,so its all good for me, it is a great feeling knowing all your yards look good when you get a day like this!! however this weekend may be a different story!

It might be worth taking your chances on catching up with mowing if you catch a break between the storms. It's suppose to storm here until Sunday, which I'm sure will head your way...

I may go out soon! The rest of the day should be clear but everything is drenched and almost every yard here has a hill or water drainage problems.

I don't want to hear any complaining. I can't buy a drop of rain here. Our lawns are fried and it's only the middle of May. I start skipping cuts next week.

I was always told when the sidewalks and driveways are dry, it is dry enough to mow, but the grass is likely still very wet, we had about 3" of rain this morning alone, I hate mowing wet, and it leaves nasty green tire marks all over the pavement! I try to wait at least a full day to let it dry out, unless I am super backed up.

we worked till about 3, and by then we were rainmowing for about 1 hr. we finally decided to quit and pick up tomorrow. the mowing was not too bad, have to be careful and avoid problem areas completely.

one thing i hate this time of year is seedheads. makes the lawns look horrible even on a clean cut.

This is wise. Don't wish the rain away, then you wont cut, until another day....

I made it out at about 3:30 and the lawns were fine, even the ones I was really worried about. I cut 8 and was done by 6:30. I still have a few more but hopefully if it doesn't rain tomorrow, I will catch up and have Thursday lawns knocked out.

still raining, not wanting to mow until much later today with all the rain we got since yeterday afternoon. there is nothing but standing water everywhere. i love it, it just makes mowing near impossible.

I mowed one (rather trimmed the whole thing). My wb sank on the first strip, so I put it away, and showed the owner. They don't understand that mowers will sink. It's their yard and if they want it mowed they shall have it. Now I have to clean the mower up - terribly muddy.

Waiting till Tuesday before I mow anything.

I made it out today and am about 6 hours away from being caught up. It was wet today but I only had to skip two because they were too wet, so I trimmed them and will mow tomorrow. It is not how fast you run with a velky on but the turning when it is real wet. It leaves real bad ruts for us that is why we walk when it is this wet. The big hills are what is bad right now but thoes are the ones that were still put off. Today we ran anything we could get at, that was flat. We were on a few commercial but mainly residential lots today. You can only put off so many days before you have to bite the bullet no matter what. It wasn't perfect conditions today but we took our time, got it done, and the customers are happy, and that is all that matters!!!

Here in Kansas did a few the other day after it pouring the last few days. Sank the Gravely on a commercial property and the 21 rutted pretty good in a few spots on others. A few lawns I had to completely mow with the 21. Then got caught mowing in the rain for about two hours later that day, good thing I brought my rain coat. My trailer is full of wet nasty grass right now because it's too wet to get back to my dump site and I've got no where else for it other than my trailer. Mowers and trailer are filthy, I was supposed to do one of my apartment complexes last Thursday and it's still too wet to get on that property.

well our day went well and got about 31 or so done but it was vewry slow going, and actually relaxing?!

99% of the lawns turned out pretty acceptable, jsut those few that are horrible for many reasons when caught mowing in these conditions.

sharp blades and a few deck scrapes along with patience is all it takes to make the day go by well
