to cut or not to cut

first time at this. if i want a accent or "Sailor" course inside the soldier line. Do i need to cut both of these when trying to make a curve radius of 12ft, or will the gap in between look OK? which would be easier to work with 1.) Sailor of 5.5 x 8.25" and Soldier of 5.5 x5.5" or 2.) sailor the 5.5 x 5.5 and soldier the 5.5 x 8.25"?
Are there any close up pics of this out there to look at?

the look sort of depends on the paver style. Generally the tighter the gaps the better, but certain styles are meant to resemble natural stone with a small gap. I believe no more than 3/8" is the spec, but that is pretty big for some styles.

Option #1 will leave smaller gaps between the pavers if you choose not to make any cuts.
