Aerated the neighbor's lawn. Learned a few things too.

1) Didn't charge enough, my aerator doesn't take out enough plugs and had to go over lawn 2-3 times to get good results; took a little longer than I thought! Plus I have a cheap Fleet Farm aerator and I can't go very fast at all.

2) Would need a new aerator if I'm going to be doing this a lot.

Now the questions (you guys should know me by now!!):

Is there a pull behind aerator that will take out enough plugs the first time over so you don't have to go over the lawn multiple times or is that standard procedure?

Anyone out there using a John Deere pull behind plug aerator? I have seen them for anywhere from $325-$450 and am wondering how well they work. The salesman told me (I know, I know) he runs his at full speed behind his 345 Deere. I have been researching Classen and Ryan also, are either one of these better than the other?

Thanks heaps,

I have a john deere pull behind aerator, works pretty good on large yards and I put enough weight in it (about 150 lbs) sometime you do need to cross aerate to make it good.
