[PTP]

When I go to purchase a mower, I usually try to do the best research that I can before pulling the trigger. That research includes Lawnsite. While the search function is somewhat helpful, I would really appreciate a section of the forum that is dedicated to in depth mower reviews.

Here is what I would like:

- the OP should fill out some sort of a survey that indicates the area of the country working in, grass type, mower year/make/model.

- the other posters should be able to rate the OP as being helpful/not helpful or agree/disagree.

- all of those who contribute to the thread should have the opportunity to rate the mowers strengths and weaknesses ie. striping ability, performance in wet grass, rutting tenancies, overall durability, etc. I would like to see the ratings from each poster and a cumulative total.

Ironic. If you're in the market for a $500 mower or a $1500 lawn tractor, you can find all sorts of comparative test results in consumer publications. But if you're willing to spend ten times those amounts for a professional machine, you can demo one or maybe two at a time or you can get the odd comment from someone who has a ten-year-old version, but no side-by-side scientific evaluations.
