I have a customer that wants to know what kind of tree this is - I haven't seen one before, so I have NO idea... anyone know?
...and no, I didn't top this tree or prune it - the customer did it all by himself! :hammerhead:

That would be a "Kousa" Dogwood. Mine is flowering very good this year.

dogwoods are very pretty treas. I have a single stem that was planted on top of my gas line(previous HO) with varigated leaves and pink flowers. and a second multi stem closer to the house that has about a 30' canopy put a nice teak bench under it. Made in the shade...

I actually have a couple older dogwoods, one is purple flowering the other is white flowering, on my property. They are great looking trees, except mine were planted when I was a kid, too close to each other, and they have grown into each other and are looking very sickly this year. I think they may have to come out soon. Sad to see 'em go, as they are almost as old as I am now. Not a bad run though, for some bare root seedlings from arbor day back in the early 90s! At least we transplanted the oaks and river birch (oohhh how I hate that messy tree!) into the open!

I love the river birch and the bark... nice year round interest....I hate the dogwood when it drops it seeds...
