well i have been searching on here for 4 hours now and I'm down to three choices. if anyone can chime in to what one I would be better off with that would be great...

my yard is an acre with about 1/2 grass the rest wooded. it is hilly and curvy. I am looking at a lower end mower because it takes only about 30 minutes total to mow.

John Deere 19.5-HP Manual 42" Riding Mower (LA105)

John Deere 19.5-HP Hydrostatic 42" Riding Mower (LA115)

Troy-Bilt 20-HP Foot Pedal Automatic 42" Cut Riding Mower (Bronco)

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

How hilly is your yard? An LA or even the Troy-Bilt have weaker hydrostatics than any of the bigger mowers like the Deere X300 series, etc. Big hills can be their weak link.

I agree, with steep hills they can take a toll on hyrdrostatic drives, if the hills are not too steep, the hyrdostat is the only way to go!

I just sold a 10 yr old JD LX277 for $2100. Easily 2-3 times the mower as anything you've listed here. $1500-$2000 will get you a nice, 3-5 yr old larger JD. I'd strongly recommend you look at used as you can get a lot more machine for the same or less money as what you've optioned here.
