Guys,

What are the better brands of rear tine Roto-tillers out there today?
I am looking for one that can provide years of service for a multi-acre garden operation. SO, not looking for a big box model, but rather a solid unit like the old Ariens or Troy-Bilts used to be. 8-12HP engine would be ideal.

Thanks

Multi acre? Sounds like a good excuse to buy a compact tractor to me!

Jmill - I agree, but a John Deere A with 2 row cultivator is being used.
Still need a rear tine tiller for the finer work.

Honda makes a really nasty one.

Look for a used Barretto. They are all hydraulic and kick butt. Over $3k new, however.

JB would you say that Honda in your link is up to commercial specs?
I don't want anything resembling a homeowner/big box machine.
It does look nice at first glance.

Yea that honda is commercial. Iv rented them a few times and they go through anything. Hit some stuff that i wish i didn't, concrete drainage pipes and a lot of cable lines. I would buy one if I needed it more often.

I HAVEN'T TOOK IT OUT ON ANY JOBS, BUT I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO DO IT, its plenty of heavy duty, usually when i need a tiller i take the tractor with the rear tine.
