Hey guys. I have a quick question. Commercial client came in late spring and decided that they wanted weed control after initially passing on it. So, needless to say, we're a little behind the ball on the weed control. We've pulled the high weeds and are looking for some advice on weed eratication to get ahead of these weeds. They are located in mulch beds with different types of bushes. What advice can you give for the best chemicals to use to get ahead of this. We applied preen in early spring. How many times would you recommend applying the preen next year?

Do you have a license to use herbicides?

Is round up the only way to go for beds?

Preen is a cheap Treflan product that works ok. If you applied it before there were weeds in the spring you would have been Ok with retreatments every 6 weeks or so. If you missed the window, dont pull, just weed wack low and spray with round-up, then treat with some Pre-em.
Cheap but Ok - Preen 4- 5 times per year
more expensive and good - Pre-em from lesco(0-0-7) 3-4 times per growing season
Best but expensive- Snapshot, 1 time Early spring- one time Oct- Nov,
virtually no weeds
