I'm in the market for a rough cut mower. What do you guy use/recommend? I'm looking at a swisher. They have one for $1400. There the cheapest I found. All others are over $2000. Not looking to spend that much.

Just find one of those old Gravely two wheel tractors, tougher than nails and a ton of attachments can be found for them. Those 30" brush hog/finish decks (depending on which blades you are running) will take down 1.5"-2" brush no problem and 4' grass and weeds won't even bog the engine down.

Gravely 2 wheel, as stated above, it will do anything you need and not let you down :)

The gravely looks like a nice machine but the property is too big to walk. Last week I ordered tow behind from quadboss.

I think the ones leaving bad reviews are the ones who try to mow barbed wire and eight inch trees with them. I have friends with the Swisher and they never had a problem, but they don't try to mow down trees bigger than is recommended. I think some people run up on cinderblocks and stuff and then try to blame the mower.

find an old gravely with the koler. They are beasts. I got mine for 400 and gave it a paint job and new rims (golf cart) over the winter. I use it at my familys 100 acres to mow down quad trails and put in food plots.
