View Full Version : Lazer Z PTO question

I thought I read that the PTO on an Exmark Lazer Z also acts as a brake when you shut the PTO off (slowing the blades) Any idea how long the blades should turn after the PTO is shut off?

Thanks...mine seems to be fine based on that info.

Yes, the clutch has a brake that in turn controls the air gap. It is actually the STOPPING that wears out the clutch, not the engaging. This is why it is recommended to always idle down the mower and let the blades slow all the way down before disengaging the blades. In over 20 years of using electric clutches, I've found this first hand to be true.
