Need Advice!

Need transmission work on my F-150. Is there a cheap way to get this done? Most businesses are quoting 1,100.00 to do it.

Have a friend who runs a small engine repair (who also sells me most of my after markget stuff for my mowers) suggest that I find someone who will do it themselves and stay away from large shops that quote through the roof.

He had an individual who did it for 300.00.

How can I get an after market transmission and also find a guy that will do great work?

I just purchased a Tranny from Advance auto parts for a 91 F-350 It came with a 15 Month unlimited warranty. Had a guy install it for 175.00

I had a guy that works at the shop for the fire department I'm on put a Jasper tans in for about $1,200 I think. I also have a 1990 f-150. The trans comes with a 3 year 75,000 mile warenty. Just remember, you get what you pay for. MAKE SURE that who ever puts in that trans knows what they are doing and that they will fix it if something oes wrong.
