I have read about people calling their dealer for a demo and the dealer will deliver a machine right to the person's house to try out. Does anyone know if A-1 will do this? Can anyone just call up and ask for this? My lawn is real long now and I was thinking this might be a good time for a test.

A good Dealer will let you Demo. I was looking at a New Mower this year looked at Scag/Exmark. The Scag Dealer brought out the Mower for a Demo the next day. The Exmark Dealer in my area never offered this and changed his Price twice so I Bought the Scag.
The other reason I bought the Scag I felt a little more trust in the Dealer for Service later.
