View Full Version : $1000 Reward for Theft

06-21-2010, 05:08 PM
On July 5, 2007 while I was overseas (I just got back) I had the following equipment listed below stolen from Conway, SC. I am offering a $1000 reward for the return and arrest of parties responsible for the theft. Not to many people use the big Dixie Choppers. Whomever did this drove off with the entire truck/trailer rig and it was loaded with tools and supplies.

The trailer was a custom made unit.... no other like it. It looks like a regular landscape trailer except that it is 24' long and 84" wide with a drivers side 50" gate and regular real landscape gate. The tongue has a bend on the curb side I beam from where it was jackknifed. However it was fine to pull. Also had 5200 lb axles too. I believe that it may still be here in SC. A picture can be seen on our website and by clicking "theft".

Dixie Chopper has the serial numbers flagged at the factory too.

If anyone can help please contact me or Det. Owen Rodmaker of the Conway Police Department at 843-488-1790 . Thank you all for the help and keeping your eyes out!

This was stolen 3 years ago?

Yea.... a police report was made and of course they haven't done a thing. I figured that now that I am back I can rattle the tree a little and see what falls out. There are a lot of friends out there and maybe one of them has seen something. I am working all options right now.

So the thief wasn't caught = the police haven't done a thing? Some dirtball steals your stuff and you're mad at the police.

I see. I guess insurance paid for it all, right?

What is it with this site bashing the police on every thread?

No problem with the police. They took a report. Finding the stuff wasn't at the top of their list since I was out of the country. No insurance on it and that is what makes this one hard. It is about a $150K loss. My own fault. I did not set up auto pay before I left and the policy lapsed. My bad.

regardless of this wrong or that guy did/didn't do this- If you were overseas in service-I thank you. And I hope the Bum's get what they have coming. They may get away with it now..been 3 years- but they will pay in God's court in the end. Hope it works out for you.

I'm sorry for your loss and I don't mean to be insensitive for one moment here but I don't see a $150K loss in the list you supplied... ???

Not everything is listed. There was a Little wonder, bed edger, chemicals, $20K of irrigation parts and supplies, chemicals, spare mower parts, etc. that I did not list. That figure is if I had to buy everything new again.

Protect your business like you would protect your 6 year old daughter from a pedophile. Pay your premium for the year up front. Enough of this auto pay bull ****, pay these policies in full every year.

I could not agree with you more. Hind sight is always 20-20.

Cool, thanks for the clarification and, again, sorry for your loss.

Not the whole shop. Just one truck and three trailers.

my dad got a motorcycle of his stolen and then 2 years after the theft the police called him down and it didnt look at all like his anymore, they asked if he could identify it and he did some wiring work under the headlight and he said there should be a piece of red tape, and sure enough there was.

11-17-2010, 01:20 AM
holy hell Thats alot of equipment, sorry to hear that.

11-19-2010, 07:35 PM
man, sorry to hear that. And I would absolutely bash the police for not doing anything like usual. Im sure they have so much other things to do rather than look for 150K worth of equipment. I know theres not much to do in these cases, but they can at least act like cops and try to investigate it. But in all seriosuness, you cant count on the police for anything, if you want results you will have to put in the legwork and advertise the hell out of your reward locally. Pretty ignorant to say, "oh its your fault that it got stolen if you didnt have insurance while you were off fighting for this shittty countries freedom!" IMO. I agree that the cops just said "screw it" as soon as you left, since they werent being pushed to do anything, they figured they didnt need to lift a finger. And someone asks why people are always bashing the police? ha your best bet is a private detective, some1 who doesnt work for the gov. and takes your case seriously. Best of luck, and who knows....maybe the theives waited for a couple years to sell em off until the heat died down, keep an eye out on craigslist
