I have the opportunity to buy two of these used super cheap. Are they good blowers for cleaning off sidewalks, decks, and occasional leaf blowing? I just don't know how good they are.

Don't know the condition of the used blowers. But as a new one, this is one of the most bullet proof blower ever made. You don't get this kind of quality now. It is only a midium size blower, not as strong as the super blowers now a days.

Yes, if you test them out carefully, if it is good, that would be a great buy.

I bought two ten years ago. They were the strongest blower made by stihl at the time. Both still run. I only buy redmax now....but if it wasnt gonna be redmax it would be stihl

I've got a BR340 (smaller model than the 420's) and I've had it for 7 or 8 years, still works to this day. It is great for blowing grass off of sidewalks or decks, once I get into heavy leaves, thats where it starts to really lack power....which is why I have a BR600. But the 420 should do better with heavier leaves than my 340....they are really good blowers and at that price you should really get them if you need them.

I still have the Br-420C I bought my first year,
the same one I ran over with my own trailer.

It looks worn out but runs like a champ, I have the br-600 so I kept it as backup
and it sure comes in handy... It's not quite as powerful but it does the job.

Ahhh yeah, I could clean leaves full time with it if I had to,
normally I use more power but they're not that weak.

Yes. It is $420 in my dealer. I was seriously considering the BR380 which has the same body except with smaller tube for higher velosity but lower cfm. But I end up buying my Maruyama because it was only $389 and supposed to be quieter ( important for me) and stronger.
