hi guys, this may seem like a stupid question, but just out of curiosity what is the average length of cut on your grass in the U.S.? the pictures on lawnsite show some really good work but it seems that you mow longer than we do over here, most of our amenity areas being cut at 25mm(1 inch).

I haven't cut under 3" this year.

thanks for that link grubrunner, interesting reading. our customers would be screaming for a cut with the grass at 3 inches. many factors involved tho, esp our wet weather!

About 3 inches for me. Some customers may be 2.5 inches and some may be 3.5, or anywhere in between.

3.5 unless it's very wet -- then 4

Usually start at 3.5 inches, with 3.25 being the absolute minimum, and usually only for the months of April, and, possibly, May, then ease the cut up to 3.75 or even 4.0 on most properties, as the weather gets hotter and drier. Lawns in this area are predominantly fescue.
