Ever clean muffler?
Is spark arrestor screen still in there?
What 2 stroke oil and what mixture?

$10 says its a plugged up muffler or screen!

Nelson,

You will need to take of the plastic covering the motor (the gray one), it is not hard just a few screws. Then take off the muffler, there is a little screen inside, remove that screen and throw away. Then clean out the muffler with some type of solvent. Replace the oppisite direction. Whole thing should take about 15-20 min.

In addition to what trimmer said, I find that if the muffler has a round exhaust "pipe" type outlet, a corresponding drill bit can quickly clean out that real nice. I use a screwdriver to remove the carbon. Be carefull around the piston, dont scratch it!

Good Luck

This IS your problem!

On Edit: Try AMSOIL 2 stroke oil. It is 100:1, and I mix it at 80:1. No more carbon build up. Power is up, smoke is down!

If the engine runs at it's normal rpm, then it has nothing to do with a plugged muffler.

As awm stated, check the clutch.

If it seems to run at an even higher rpm then before but head does not function, it could be the inner shaft. If that shaft brakes, there is no power transfer to the head.

Hopefully Nelson gets straightened out and lets us know what it was.

Symptoms that he gave....
I know to Ck air filter, Ck filter in gas chamber, Ck plug...

But I did all this ...but it still runs sluggish....Any Advice....

These things lead me to believe that its a POWER issue. The SLUGGISH term was my tip off.

The first time it happened to me back in the early 80's, I thought it was my clutch or a seized shaft. Took it to the dealer (under warranty) and the bill said "exhaust port cleaning" . After that, I did it myself. Oil was bad back then, and the 16:1 couldn't have helped much!!!
