Looks like a definite pathway of dead grass in one area

Wow, those are big pictures. I would say it could be a mole. Air gets under the grass in the region of the tunnel. The roots get dry and grass turns brown. Stomp it down and water it well. Use a trap or call a pro to get rid of the mole.
