i have decided to buy an 36" exmark the only question is floating deck or fixed. which is better?

Depends on your properties. If they are generally smooth, get the fixed. Most of the time scalping with a 36" isn't much of a problem. The design of them doesn't let them have much of a problem.

I wouldnt worry about the scalping. I would think about how often you have to change the cutting height.

I run a metro 36 fixed deck and have not had a single scalp since I started using it. A couple of the Lawns I do are very uneven and still there is no scalping.

Have the fixxed deck and love it. Couldn't justify the extra bucks for the floating deck. :D
...but the floating deck is just soooooo darn easy to adjust....and besides, it's just soooooo 'floaty'! ;)
I wanted hydro drive and went with the Turf Tracer HP (36'')...so a floating deck was what I was stuck with. :D
I do not think you can go wrong with either...as long as it is Exmark!
