You got a good deal just make sure the spark plugs have been changed properly the V-10s are known to spit them out. The 2 valve V-10s are good on fuel. I would do a fluid change on the transmission-engine and rear diff also have the front ball joints checked.

Alotta the fords are known for spitting plugs like Gravel said...local mechanic I go to broke down and bought the expensive repair kit for his lil shop and charges a quarter of what the dealer does for this repair. Dads about due on his ford and kinda nervous after hearing some of the stories but what ya going to do..?

Truck looks good, I woulda snatched it up for that price too.

Yeah during my research on the V10's I read about that.
I took it strait to Ford and had them give it a full service and check all the fluids. He said everything checked out real solid. I am hoping that this truck last's a long time.
What kind of life do these motors see when maintained well?

I have a 5.4 and had both heads replaced causae it spit out 5 plugs. That was at 125k now I have 260k and pulls 8k all day long. So they do last if you take care of them.

The truck will last you another 10 years depending on how well you are on maintenance. The 4R100 trans is the biggest worry keep the fluid changed and keep it cool. Load that truck up to max gross the transmission will be getting hot.

We have a 99 E350 with the V10 with 230,000 miles. Just took a trip to michigan which is 1000 miles one way and had no problems. We havn't done any major repairs to the engine or transmission. Truck looks nice and should do you well.

Thanks for the replies,

So far we are very pleased with the truck. Payload is working fine for what we do. And it is much easier for the guys to move equipment/haul than our old Frieghliner dump.

So far, so good!
