I have a tough area to landscape right along a semi busy road.

The area is about 100 ft long and 11 feet wide. The area also has a decent slope to it. The homeowner wants something low maintenance there that isnt grass or mulch. In the past the mulch has washed away and the grass just wont grow. In the winter sand and salt gets spread in the area.

I was thinking riprap, but selling 25ish yards of material for that small of an area might be tough.

Any other ideas?

So he doesn't want grass or mulch and is not willing to pay for rip-rap? what else does he expect.

I suppose you could put some sort of ground cover but I would imagine the rock would be a cheaper solution.

Try a ground cover like Asian jasmine. That would be perfect for a area like that.

Well figure 25-30 yards of riprap for 1100 square feet at $18 per ton. 3/4 stone would only require about 10ish yards at 20 a ton.

Idk about you guys but in my areas its tough to land any work now so Im working with her to land the job and still make money

The steep bank, roadside ditch, I like the best, is 3' tall grass.
