Scag spindle Rebuild?

How technical is it to replace the housing on a scag spindle? The cast iron housing assembly cracked and I want to repair before it fails. I have the replacement, but wanted some suggestions if there are any tricks to taking out that recessed nut. Thanks

We found that we have to replace the spindle shaft and nut. Our guys use impact guns when changing blades and slightly mushroom the shaft at the threads. Other than that it is pretty simple.
