My first Big Bid

Just recently I received a call from a builder whos architect is looking for a bid on a list of plans which I just received today.

I've done planting jobs but never did any of the masonry end of it so Im not sure on pricing. This is what they want:


Driveway- supply and install RCA base and compact to 4"
Grade existing top soil as needed.
Supply and install 3,100 sq ft oil and stone driveway
Supply and install 350 LFT Belgian block curbing
Supply and install two Belgian block aprons. Total 700 sq ft
Supply and install 1-1/2" 24"x24" bluestone pavers on compacted aggregate as per plan qty 46
Supply and install Stack stone short wall with two steps per plan
Supply and install varying size 2" bluestone upper and lower patios set on aggregate


Also if I were to sub this stuff out do I get a quote from them and tack on a profit for myself?

Whats the rate to install belgian block?
How much does oil and stone drives cost by the sqft?

If you don't have any hardscape expirience you might want to pass on this one. If you go the sub route, then yes, you get bids and then tack on your profit.

FWIW I usually try to get $10-$15/ sq. ft for pavers.

Yeah I got the exp just not setup for it so Ill sub it and tack on a profit.... how much is reasonable to tack on?

Industry standard is around 15%
