Looking for cultivar names here guys.

Eclipse and Midnight are a couple. Any of you Northern guys have other thoughts on what would be a good all-around cultivar to sow that is resistant to NRS plus performs well and germinates well as a early fall slice seed?

I would go through these reports and prior years.

In looking at some of the top varieties, I like Bluestone.

another variety that claims "summer patch" reisitant is Blackberry

For "Fusarium" resistance try Bluebarry

If it does not claim disease resistance--don't buy it. And remember the resistance could be to dollar spot or powdery mildew, and not to NRS--you have to guess at times. This blue Velvet also sounds good in disease resistance.

However, I am not so sure bluegrass does well in an overseed or slit seed operation. The seed is small, and seedling vigor not so great. You can never tell how much of the new seed actually takes...and how much just fails due to competition from the old grass.

Maybe someone who has done this will chime in. Will bluegrass actually take hold --or--must you include ryegrass to be successful?

Great question...looking for responses.
