Don't forget your polymeric sand!

I may have misunderstood, but first of all you only need 1 inch of bedding sand, not 2 inches. Also, don't compact your bedding sand

We never use less than a 5 inch base of 21A (crusher run or astm 2940? ) and we never use slag (screenings) for concrete paver patios. We use concrete sand for bedding. The ICPI has some construction details that are helpful www.icpi.org. For cubic yard of crushed stone to ton conversions I figure 1 yard = 1.5 tons. It will vary depending upon size of stone and moisture content. Also figure at least a 10% waste factor on the volume of your crushed stone.
