When we type lawn service Orange Tx. we are down a ways on the 1st page?
Of the ones that are at the top, or under local business search, some or no longer in business or they are a different type of business.
Here is the link.

When we do a Yahoo search we are at the top. Well, we were at the top, I just did a search and we are no longer at the top.
Thanks

Wow, well it sounds like you need to talk to your IT guy, you will need to modify your content and meta and enhance your site submissions.
Your content and data contained in your page is a big bonus.
People always say that's not how seo works however I am a believer that content will always serve as a relevant indexing source im my opinion.
I want you to know, I never had a day of college for making webpages, and I removed all the pre-fabricated pretty pics and info in a pre-fab page layout and built my own page from scratch.
The page took me about 4 months to perfect however I was on the 1st page in the top 5 in 2 days.
My current page is listed as #1 for most searchs' when people look for a lawn care contractor in my area.
I do get alot of calls each week and I continue to grow.
I hope all things are well with your business sir, I want you to know most customers are obtained by repeat services and great performance.
Here is an example of a search for lawn care contractors in my area.

Yes, those little cities are fairly easy to rank #1 on.
I remember when we moved from Portland are down near Medford in 2005, and in just 2 weeks after changing my site text, my site became #1 in that 60,000 population city. Along with half its suburbs.
Its the big cities that are much more challenging due to the abundance of websites.
Either way though, #1 is nice. Actually, anywhere on page one is nice. Because in the green industry, it seems that homeowners are more willing to read through more sites to find one they are comfortable with for their own home and plants.

We felt like this was a big enough deal to us that we decided to outsource our efforts to an Internet marketing firm that specializes in this stuff. They help to improve our rankings in the search engine(s) so that we can try to garner more traffic to our website. The results are pretty cool, and the amount of effort it takes on our behalf is not that great. We continue to supply good content to the website and it helps. We work with them to make sure the site stays updated, fresh, unique and relevant.
All of these things help rankings. Traditional media and traditional marketing efforts weren't working for us...we turned to the Internet to focus on the people that are actually looking for us.
Just my $.02 worth.

Pretty sure Bing does similar too.
Not sure if they send a card or an automated phone call.
Bing seems to be growing slightly. Not a lot. But its noticeable.
