Hey Man,

Dont let anyone discourage you. It is good to see a young man willing to work and not just playing video games all day. Even with a bad economy, there are still ways out there to make money, if one is willing to work.

Your mowing looks nice. Keep up the good work. You should start a thread in the "Picture" forum, and check out some of the others there.

to thyne own self be true...its always nice to see your efforts when you leave a property and know that for the next few days people will be going by and admiring the effort.
THAT is how my referral system has/is worked. As long as you can look at your work and say "damn that looks nice" then others will too!!

Atta boy !

the last 16-18 yr old kid i had working for me, almost got me fired from a job i had for 12 yrs.(never had complaint from this lady-called me and demanded he be removed from her property ) Ran our scag cougar into fence posts /over flowers / and finally over roots around a giant maple. which knocked the oil line off, which seized the engine after draining onto lawn.

you are miles away from this joker , who will remain nameless.

i call him my $3,000 dollar mistake:realmad: and he only worked with me for two weeks :wall

keep on , keeping on kid

Not all young people pay attention and neither do a lot of adults. They've gotta want to see things and do things right and take a little pride in what they are doing.

StihlBR600
09-10-2010, 11:17 PM
Haha that is the biggest hill in the world and it runs straight into a lake. Very dangerous yard to mow. Ill take some pics of it

Looks good. What is the difference - everyone can cut grass but not mow or is it everyone can mow grass but not cut it??

Either way - you gotta like what you do to lay stripes.

looks good, I'm 20 now and have been in this business legitly since I was 17. I agree, I love this work. My friends tell me I'm crazy for going home on weekends and missing all kinds of parties, but whose the first person they go to when they are looking for work?.... Me lol. Its great money if your willing to put in the time, effort and determination.

Keep it up!

StihlBR600
09-15-2010, 09:11 PM
Haha yes all of my friends are always asking me if they can work for me. I always say no because they wouldnt last one yard and they would take advantage of the fact that we are friends and slack off

Looks great, but those beautiful stripes draw your eyes right towards that un-maintained bed!

I had a job that I was asked to bid on the spot in front of the customer (I usually like to walk around a few minutes) and so I tossed out a price and knew it was a bit on the low side...as my luck had it, it poured, turning a job that I would have broke even on, into a job that cost me 2x the amount I charged the customer. The good thing was, since the customer didn't care enough for how the property looked to call someone for a cut sooner, they didn't care much for fine details, I mowed over it twice and it looked like total hell when I finished, the customer was very happy when I left...she said it looked great.

I never leave a job unless the lawn looks as good as i can make it look, especially in the rain. Im very impressed with my Toro. It doesnt clump up even in soaking wet grass. that lawn in the picture has very thick grass, thats why i had to tripple cut it.

Well you can only make a weed infested bermuda lawn look so good when its raining, I too have a Toro, though it cuts good, it sucks on wet bermuda. There is a big difference between cool season grass and warm season grass...we have both, I cut both.

You would have to see the lawn I'm talking about to understand, you would not have spent a minute more than me on it. The had 3 ft tall grass in the beds.
