Stupid Share Icon

I keep clicking on crap when my mouse goes over the share icon. If I wanted to shard something I think I should actually have to CLICK ON IT. I just think that simple modification would make everything closer to perfect.

yes, when your mouse scrolls over the "share" link it will enlarge it, however, you do need to click on it in order to activate or "share" something

yeah I know that....But IF I am on the way to click on somebodys profile the thing pops up and I end up clicking on something. I think you should have to click on it to get it to enlarge too. Why do you guys have it enlarge the way it does? Hell the thing even catches me when I want to click on a page to simply use the scroll wheel on my mouse.

I also dislike this feature. Out of curiosity, does anyone actually use the "share" feature? I never have, can't imagine sharing a thread on FB or something.

I actually was trying to click on something else and ended up here...

I personally think the 'share' function is annoying and wish I could disable it.

It does seem rather pointless, seeing how most of those who might see it would still
need to set up an account here... Now from the LS perspective that might be all fine
and dandy but from a visitor's perspective it's just more annoyance.

Tell you right now, something invites me (to read or whatever) and I go over there BUT before
I can do anything it wants all my info so as to set up an account, you can forget that.

There should be a poll that pops up when people actually use that stupid button....that way they can count who clicks on it on purpose or by accadent.......oh yeah, make the results public too.

I just noticed you don't even need to hover over it, you simply need to brush across it and it comes up...

I TOO would appreciate the share icon being disabled/removed.
And while we're at it, can we get a menu bar at the bottom too?
Then I wouldn't have to scroll all the way back up to hit the "CP, New Posts, or Search" buttons.

Given that first reason.........may explain why it is so sensitive.

Even if it's going to be there at least make it so it doesn't expand so easily. It's just annoying and when expanded it hides the button I want to use or text I'm trying to read...

I guess it would be nice if somebody at least acknowledged our displeasure with this thing and interjected that it "couldn't be changed" or something.

I did post right when this thread was started...you need to click on it in order to activate it and you can very easily click the "x" to close it.

also, it has never just "popped up" for me, as someone mentioned, when I am trying to click on someone's profile...it is located at the top and bottom of threads, not near every post and, again, can very easily be closed.

I don't believe that we are getting rid of it so I just wanted to post to give you my thoughts and let you know that

I second the fact that it opens up when you move over it. It does NOT have to be clicked on to open. This needs to be changed so that it has to be clicked on not just when you move over it. Also it is in the way at the top and bottom of the threads.

It's called a Mouse Over fellas. It should disappear within a second of moving your cursor off of it. Specifically the command is "onmouseover".

There are far, far worse things they could have here like popup ads that won't close until they've run and hidden links that redirect you if you click anywhere on the page. I absolutely hate those things.
