I love when I see guys rocking these trucks. I know the isuzu's are nice, but Ive never used the one with the trailer on it. What do you do if you have any debris at a site? Otherwise, thats sweet truck man

There's almost too many different ways to roll. Cab over open, cab over enclosed, trailer open, trailer enclosed, full size truck w\utility bed, and even compact trucks are running around with utility beds.

It nice to be able to keep your stuff out of the rain and hot sun but enclosed trailers and trucks are easy to damage and cost a lot to fix.

Going Diesel was a great choice. Sunterra here in Austin bought a bunch of gassers and they are under powered from what the drivers told me. All this doom and gloom about the new Diesels is over hyped and the majority of the time it's from people who have little or no oil burner experience.

I have a dump trailer for doing clean up work I tow it with my 2008 1 ton dually with flat bed it has a blizzard plow on it I figured I better keep my other truck since no way Isuzu would push snow 3rd year in business looking to change my equipment soon phase out some of my machines with alot of hours thinking about going to all Hustler Trimstars in various deck sizes or going to some sort of stander mower to conserve pace. Love the trimstars not sure how I would like being on a sulky alot of companys in my area use nothing but walk-behinds

The LawnRanger
09-25-2010, 11:47 PM
wish I could have got it in 4 wheel drive but they didn't have one and not even sure they make one in 4x but would be nice put plow on it and carry snow throwers and my utv with boss plow in the bed but oh well just happy wife let me spend the money to buy it lol

I gave 47,500 for the truck they was asking 52,000 for it Has turbo diesel they make one without turbo that is cheaper but wanted all the power i could get. I like it for the simple fact when the day is over I can back into the shop close the door and be done no unhooking trailers or having to pull equipment off trailer to put inside. before I bought it I was looking at enclosed same setup with a electric ramp door look like it would get crowded real quick time you got all your equipment in it

That's pretty reasonable considering what 3/4-1 ton pickups cost now.

What kind of loaded MPG are you expecting?

The LawnRanger

I priced a 3/4 ton truck before I bought this one reg cab 4x4 had a dirtymax and it was 52,000 so I don't think I got hurt it,s not 4x4 but I have a 4x4 for winter

That truck looks like a great way to carry mulitple employees, plenty of equipment and still get good fuel economy. If you can get the 20mpg that the salesman said, you should be in great shape. A comparable crew cab pick-up will get maybe 12mpg on a good day towing a fully loaded trailer.

Though I'd be worried about employees driving that. Its tough enough to teach people how to drive a ztr, trying to get some to learn how to drive this truck will be a challenge in itself.

The LawnRanger
09-26-2010, 06:00 PM
I have 4 employees my 2 sons and a friend of mine and me I don't let anyone drive it would like to add a second truck just like it as business grows. I wish I would have started business back in my early twenty's my wife was skeptical when I told her I wanted to start a lawn business and we bought our first machine she had a fit now she see's the money I make and she was able to quit her job and do my book keeping she doesn't say to much when I need equipment

a few questions for you if you don't mind.......

1- what is the length of the dovetail+ramp
2- what is the height of the top of the dovetail
3-do you think you will have any problems dragging the rear end?

Thank You!

I sure hope you can get those measurements for me.

They have a box around them and they dont touch the ground when gate goes down the gate is electric that can be operated by a switch on the rear or from inside the cab

Love the mileage I was using my Dodge Durango with a Hemi and trailer loaded would get about 12 mpg was spending way to much in fuel this truck even has a built in fuel tank that I fill and it has a nozzle so I can fuel my equipment

That truck is awesome. I think the cabovers with a landscaper body look like the most efficient rigs there are. You don't have to train anyone to drive with a trailer and the mileage is great on the diesels. I love them, and I am jealous of yours! I have been looking nonstop for a used single cab. Great Rig!!! Any pics of it loaded?

If those seats are cloth I would get some vinyl seat covers made. Cloth just absorbs all the sweat and tends to get all nasty. I hate the feel of sitting in cloth seats when I'm all sweaty. Cover those seats up and they will last forever. Plus it's super easy to cleanup vinyl seats.

whats the bed manufacture. i love the gradual slope of the dove tail.
The bed is manufactured by a company in Gallatin Tn. called Wil-Ro Inc. they also make one with a removable dovetail so you can actually use the truck as a dump truck also It has built in legs that the dovetail sits on just drop legs pull two pins and drive away pretty sweet set up Ive bought alot of equipment since starting business but I would say my best investment was this truck I have been in business 3 years this year and have outgrown 2 trailers so I decided to get something I wont outgrow and if I do then I'll buy another one and run a second crew

It foot my business very well and I will probably add another one in a few years I like the fact that it is versatile and the dovetail comes off and it has a dump bed so I can also do clean up work with out bringing out a second trailer. I have a dump trailer also but it,s used mainly to haul my track loader and do landscape and hardscape. I looked at a brand new Chevy dirty max when I was looking to buy and for a single cab 4x4 1 ton was 45,000 so dont think I got hurt, would have been nice if it was 4x4 and I could mount a blade on it So Isuzu, GMC, Ford, Freightliner if your listening LANDSCAPER BED IN 4x4 SNOW PLOW READY ultimate lawn care vehicle
