Hi,
I am looking for ideas on soil mix for the winter Pansy beds. We generally swap out some soil from the summer color and replace/mix into bed with a clean peat/perlite blend. This looks nice, but am still having trouble with disease.
Some ideas are to incorporate a manure and compost into the new soil brought in thus to allow a more stable environment for microbes to compete with disease pathogens.
So, i am torn here as to wether I should go for more sterile and not blend with existing( just topdress 5" and plant into that) or go for more of a composted material.
Let me hear what you guys are doing or have found does or does not work for you.
Thanks
