Looking for a new Shindiawa T 242 to purchase somewhere in CT. Does anyone know if there are any left anywhere?

Far as I know, T242 is still in full production, go to Shindaiwa USA site and search for dealers in your area.

If you are not dead set on T242, consider Husqvarna 326L, it is the same price, more powerful and lighter. I have the Shindaiwa M242, it is good, but not very powerful. If I were to do it again, I would go with Husqvarna.

I like the T242 and especially the speed feed head.

Yes, the Speed feed head is second to no one. But you can get other brands and get the Speedfeed head also when you really come down to this. You should be able to find a dealer around you that sell Shindaiwa. Here is the site:

What is the reason? My guess must be the power. I am surprised that it is not that powerful. I have a Troybilt 25cc 4 cycle and it can run circles around my M242!!! It is under power for weeds that is over 1' or taller. The SRM265 must be much stronger. That's the reason I was mentioning about Husqvarna 326L. Or even the 223L for $249, get the Speedfeed head and is still less than the T242!!!

What am I talking???!!!! I own more Shindaiwa than everything else!!!:hammerhead::hammerhead:

You'll find most outfits run the 261's. I have a mix of seven 261's and 260's. You really don't ever see anyone running Husky stuff around here. The Shin 261 is the 900 pound gorilla of the commercial market.

The 261's have been discontinued. I bought the last one I could find locally for $299 and had Russo Power send me two more.

$299 is very good price.

$299 is very good price.

The list was $229 but I think Shin had given the dealers an incentive to unload all the 261's. With sales tax it was about $325. Russo sent me two more delivered for the same price.

I didn't need three more string trimmers but for a reduced price and knowing the 261's are history it was time to grab some before it was too late.

I think Little River in Oxford. That guy Tommy is one of the best owners I have ever meet. I buy them coffee beans every Christmas.
