Getting ready to drop $100 a month on a custom website. For the $100 I get an hour of updates every month, hosting, domain, design, nothing upfront, hit tracking, search optimization, e-mail and the capability for e-commerce. I tried to build my own website many times and that could have go onto failblog. I think its a fair price, what do you think? I figured I only need to get one, maybe two customers a year to pay for it. It will go hand in hand with a marketing blitz I want to do next year.

What are you doing, paying-off an expensive one at $100 per month, with some editing allowance? Or is this an ongoing $100 a month thing?

I don't like tunnels without an end in sight myself. So I'd rather pay $500 to $1500 for a website, and just pay someone like $50 each month for an hour of editing if needed.

Or just have them design it for content control that I could do.

I would pay a company for a nice website built under a content management system( so you won't pay for maintenance, you update it by yourself) , check their portfolio (if you like their work proceed.), and look for a fair price, I think that's smart.
Consider some points like being SEO friendly or ask how much will it cost to position some keywords in your area. And maybe go with a Social media campaign which is where you can really find a lot of potential customers.

I'm actually happy with it! It also comes with a toll free number, phone call tracking, web tracking, I can make changes myself easily with their crazy good program and if its something too difficult they can do it. It also can have flash, music and video with voice over if I so choose. It works for now. I should have also explained this is not just a website it also pays to have a marketing adviser.

That price is way too high.

By the way mine is custom.

Yours looks pretty sweet but....its not custom.

So in other words, its sort of like getting a utility service.

As long as you pay, the services you want are still there.

So is the website yours to keep if you don't want the other stuff? Or is the site yours to use only if you pay the monthly fee?

If its your site outright, do you know roughly how much was for the site, and how much covers the phone, hosting and advising?

After a year its mine. I think its like $60 for hosting, toll free number etc. $40 for the advising and site updates.
