I know the Lesco sprayers used to be really good, but I've heard they started making them in China and quality has gone down. I was looking at a 50 gallon unit with the Kawi engine and electric hose reel for $1900. I have alot of Kawi engines and feel confident in the engine, but how is the quality of the rest of the unit? $1900 seems pretty good for a new unit.

I can't speak for current Lesco skids. I think the big issue after the Name brand pump and motor is the POWDER COATING. Many Years ago I bought a Northern Tool skid sprayer that rusted apart in a Year. Of course the pump and parts are still in use today on homemade frames.

I priced the Space Saver 200 at both Lesco and GNC to find a $ 1000 difference in the price for the same skid made by GNC. However if you order a Skid on line the shipping cost might end up equal to buying from Lesco.

Thanks Ric
I looked up the GNC site and they have a branch about 2 hours from here. I asked a guy that used to work at Lesco and he warned about the newer China models being lower quality. What would be the best pump to get for a 100 or 150 gallon mainly kill all rig?

I am a fan of the Tried and True D 30 Hydro pump. The one I am using on my Ant Truck is well over 10 years old. It has been torn all the way down and rebuild at a parts cost of just over $ 500.00. It works like a new Pump. HOWEVER they are over $ 900.00 with taxes Etc and that doesn't include the Engine. Note the Link I gave and get the one with the Gear reduction. It will bolt right up to a Engine. Other wise you must fool with Belts and Pulley.

You can go Cheap with a Roller Bearing Pump for around a $ 100.00. They put out just over a 100 PSI and about 10 GPM. Big problem is they won't last very long.

My advice is to get the GNC space saver if you can afford it being only 2 hours away. Shipping on a Space Saver to Florida is $ 500.00 The Tank alone is worth the cost IMHO. If you Price a 200 gallon Space Saver Please PM me the Cost from your local guy.

I have the exact same skid, its a great unit. Its a bit small but its a quality unit. I purchased this unit because I needed something small that would fit in the back of my Tacoma. At my calibrated rate I am putting down 1 gal per/1000 so I can treat about 50k of turf...plenty for me.

I paid $1400 for mine brand new old stock from JDL.

cga, Is there a way to tell if it's old style or made in China?

prosteel, how do those tanks hold up without a frame? Do they warp over time with the weight of the reel and engine sitting on top?

Should say on the end just under the engine, here is a photo of mine taken a few moments ago

I found this in one of my accounts barn. 50gal rig with Honda 5.5, Bean pump, manual reel and only been used a few times. I walked in and was floored, he has a commercial Toro plugger, Toro workman, two McClain reel mowers, top dresser and various other equipment. He's a doctor and used to have his own putting green in the back yard... did everything his self. He said I could use it anytime I wanted, but I told him I don't like to borrow stuff and asked if he would give me a price for everything. Maybe I can get a deal or trade it out for our service. Pic is bad, dark barn

Cut the wheels off of it and put it in your truck! My Lesco is a hand reel...its not bad for the amount I have to do...after all I am limited to 50 gallons anyway.

He's thinking about the sprayer... his dad owned a spray company years ago and gave it to him. But he said if I would go over and get the McClain out of the barn I could have it, so that's a nice score.

Too bad the reel mower wasn't a Trimmer, TruCut or Locke.

He bought a new Jocobsen, that's why he's giving the McLane to me. It was really dark in there and I didn't get a good look at the mower, but I think it maybe a greens mower. Even if it is, I will get it cleaned up and serviced and see how it works. I really wanted the sprayer and Toro Workman, maybe he will decide to sell.

I am not sure how many retirees you have in Panama City. But My area is better known as GOD'S WAITING ROOM. I have made some Great Scores on Tools and Cars from retirees who are down sizing. 15 year old Cars with 20 thousand miles for $ 500!!! All kinds of tools. When the Snow Bird comes south full time Mom sells the couch but Pop brings every tool he ever owned. There are many who make a living off of estate sales.

I am sure your Doctor will be happy to Trade out for services. He is thinking I get Free lawn care and Free Junk removal to Free up the storage space!!! WOW what a bargain!!!!
