Build a pond days, when and where?

How does anyone find out when a pond building day is scheduled? I'm definitely interested in participating in one if there is anything within a reasonable distance from NW Vermont. Reasonable being on the order of 4-500 miles. This is pretty much the armpit of the world as far as new stuff in the landscape market.

Aquascape, when you do these building days do you work with an experienced contractor in the area or do you bring in your own people to demo how to?

It's about 100% certain I'll be doing a pond in late September or early October. I'm sure I can muddle my way through it, the customer knows I've never done one, but any sort of experience would be comforting.

there are several days out in NY, CT, and Boston. Any where fron Sept. 10-13. I just saw the ad in Lawn & Landscape.

I'll be going to the one in Indy or Grand Rappids MI.

Will it be worth my time?
What type of ponds do they use? (molded or linner)

I just checked their website and the only building day listed there is out in Vancouver, a bit too far for me. I didn't get my Lawn & Landscape this month, maybe they took me off their subscription list.

I can't help but wonder where the moderator from Aquascapes is, this thread has been up for a week or so and not a word from them.

We attended one last year and it was benificial to us. It is one thing to read a book or see a movie but to get down in the dirt and do it is the best learning experience that you can have. Not to mention the ability to ask questions about other ways of going about it and such.

Money well spent for us.

Hands on is the best way for me to learn. If I learn enough, then pond building will be in our future.

Attended their seminar today in Milwaukee, WI. AWESOME!!!! Money well spent. This is my first time ever seeing or experiencing this process. Honestly, I know I could go install one now and it would go pretty smoothly. Very nice setup and they are quite complete. There was about 60 guys there today and we went from a flat site to a working pond in 8 hours. Don't get me wrong, not all 60 guys worked. Probably about 15 or 20 taking turns digging and so forth. Aquascape sent 1, yes 1 guy, and we supplied the manual labor. He did alot himself though. His name is Dave, hats off to the guy, he knew these ponds inside and out. Very knowledgeable and great to talk to. I HIGHLY recommend attending one. Again, my hats off to Dave and Aquascape. Thanks!!
