I know a few guys on here collect model trucks and equipment and I thought they might like to see some of my dads collection. I was able to stop by my parents house this past weekend and grabbed a few pictures of his model collection. Last time he counted he had over 600 of them. Mostly 1:50th scale diecast but he does have a few 1/64th and 1/32nd scale also. He makes a bunch of new custom ones every winter and has been in the DHS diecast open house model show every year in Ohio. He won the first time he entered. Here are some pics of his model room in his basement. Kinda messy at the moment but you get the idea of how into model collecting he is.

Those are his favorite too. He has a few lattice boom cranes still in the boxes that he hasn't had time to put together. He also tries to buy every Norscot model they come out with too.

Holy crap, that looks like a Hobby Shop.

I've been in diecast shops with less product.

That's really cool. I used to to collect HO - scale trains and vehicles when I was younger, but dad and I kinda got out of it a while back.

That's quite a collection your father has!

I have had the opportunity to visit Buffalo Road Imports and their shop is amazing, here are some pictures for you guys to enjoy:

Here are a few pictures of my favorite pieces, all of these cranes require some degree of assembly and rigging; a process that can often be frustrating at best! The 1280 and 16000 are easily 6' tall when fully extended (and with extra boom sections on the 1280). The 1280 can still go quite a bit higher, but it hits the ceiling.

Those conrads are nice but they get really expensive. My dad takes forever to cranes like that put together. He has a 16000 and 2 555's. One of the 555's is still in the box from a year ago and the 16000 is standing but the block and tackle line has yet to be strung. Thats the worst part, running all that string through the sheaves.

Oh yeah, that 16000 was terrible to string up, very frustrating. There were also some build quality issues as well, so I'm hesitant to buy anymore TWH cranes; but that 4100 ringer sure is tempting!

Nice John. My dad just rearranged a lot of his models and got a new wall case. I'll have to get some new pictures with the christmas additions and the room all clean.
