Hey Northerners. I live in BC, Canada and I was curious how late you typically seed in the fall? No, I'm not talking about dormant seeding over the winter. This is the last week I plan to seed for the year. Our temperatures still average 12-13 celcius during the day but it gets down to 1-2 at night - we actually had some frost this weekend. Anyways, let me know. I would imagine topdressing would help keep the seed warmer this time of year.

Regardless of where you live, soil temperature is the deciding factor. After that, time to establish before the first freeze.

I stopped seeding about 2 weeks ago here in Maine (zone 5). Not enough time for the seed to become established before hard freezes. I do plan on doing some dormant seeding in mid November though.
