Well folks I've seen invasions before but they were nothin' compared to what I saw today.I now know why they call them an army. There were at least a gazillion of the little devils.Moving in mass in the daytime here in NC.The turf looked alive. 12k of new sod and worms in every stage of maturity.Any info on chems that will kill all stages of growth including eggs ? Help me on this one guys, Tremor are Ya out there ? I'm Lic in NC. As a side note this guys sod is all turning black. I think his well has hit brackish water and he is killing more grass everytime he waters. I told him to take a soil sample and a water sample to be tested today. This sod turned black and not brown. Thanks

Move fast because the Army Worms do. Dylox, Talstart, & Delta Gard are the quickest.

Water lightly. 1/4" is enough.

The mass exodus will be amusing to watch.

We had these guys last year & it was almost fun.

They won't likely reinfest the same turf again next year.

Nothing is labeled for the eggs. But future generations are unlikely to be an issue.
If you were to select a longer lasting insecticide like Talstar, it would last long enough to knock down any additional catepillars (larvae) that hatch this year.

Next year you may want to scout the neighborhood, but reinfestation is not likely.
