What would be your best choice to down light a large back yard? I am not doing typical "landscape" down lighting but more of functional or general lighting. I normally use the Unique Lunar fixture but want to see if there is something with more of a spread.

Thanks,
Ray

Quasar I is a shorter version of the lunar with the orbital side mount. Even shorter is the Probe OSM. The beam spread is dictated by the lamp and length of the shroud. If you shorten the shroud you leave a greater chance for glare.

Probe OSM with a 60 degree spread lamp is about the most you can get out of a fixture. If it is not straight down, or vertical you will have more glare.

Many people here swear by the Cast tree light as well. Although I have not used it, it has been highly rated.

There are others and I am sure people will chime in with their favorites for you.

I have to side with the CAST tree light on this one.

If you want the prison yard effect, then a 500 watt 120 volt fixture should suffice. Naturally that is a 120 volt fixture though.
