what can be done to increase the cation exchange capacity?

WHAT IS A NORMAL RANGE

less then 10 more then 5

Aerate & top dress with organic compost

Less than 10 is low
10-20 is okay
20-50 is good.

I think the measureable range goes up to 200 (muck/peat moss)

I know how to manage turf with various CEC, I never pursued altering it without a renovation.

Start using organic fertilizers, use mushroom compost, any dark soil or or soil conditioner.
