I am able to buy a 1998 chevy 2500 regular cab 2wd 5.7L with only 56,000 miles its in really good condition, it only needs tires they are asking $5000. its a friends uncle that past and they want to unload it.

Not quite as good a buy as a like-new LS Turf Revitalizer.

(Inside joke for JB lawn and me.) Go ahead and post about his truck deal.

thats a decent price. If it is rust free it will make a good truck for a few more years. check the cab corners, and behind the fender flares for rust.

sounds like a great deal to me, my 98 has 5.7 with 135000 miles on it runs like new

The only issue with the truck seems to be the 2wd. Your real limited with what you can do in the winter time with that truck. One thing you must check (and I'm sure a few people will chime in here with this) is the intake gasket. These LOVE to leak and let go at the worst possible times. Make sure that one is either replaced with an updated one or not leaking. Other than that, just check for the typical rust under the doors and tailgate. These trucks are nearly indestructible...I run 3 of them myself and my father has one thats only had tires and brakes in 190,000 miles. There good trucks with a ton of power...best of luck to you!

2wd does suck but thinking of getting this truck stricktly for lawn fertilizing. I have 2 other trucks with 4wd.

If you're not towing with it I would get the 2003 Silverado for sale on Lawn Site for $2,500. He actually lowered the price to $2000,mileage is 75K regular cab full size bed,it's only 6 cylinder but if you're not towing it will save on gas.I think that's a good buy at that price,we are waiting for pics on it.
