help choosing mower

I am looking for advice on choosing a mower for cutting a 3.5 acre yard.I live next to my inlaws that are elderly and no longer able to maintain their property.I have back problems{ two ruptured disc} so i would prefer a riding mower that would not completly eat up a whole day while doing it.I would like to buy a mower that will last . Any ideas would be helpfull.
