must say I was dissapointed. Not many vendors IMO. And about half of the ones that were there were full of it. I mean if you don't know anything you should admit that you'll have to find out or you don't know. My BS meter pegged out a few times, those companies definitely wont get a second look from me. Don't like the pricing scams many companies are using eighther. Buy at the show, we have a point system, blah blah blah. Whatever happened to I can make a little money at this price and I'll be here to serve you in the future. I've found the most people seem to want a good price no matter if I want to try one of a new brand now and if I like it I'll be back for more, not I'll buy 6 machines today because I can get a commercial discount but I really only need 4 so I'll have to take my chances and hope I can make money on the 2 I didn't need.

I disliked the pricing structure a bit till I understood it better. Talking to a factory rep can help a bit as they tend to take time to explain it. Dealers know some but not as well as the rep. As far as 6 mowers what brand was that? Exmark is a larger rider and stand on unit to get 15% off. Scag is about the same (you might need to get a bagger also). But its not 6 mowers any more. Unless your talking wb or push mowers.

Not sure what you guys are talking about...but then again I am a solo LCO and don't buy any equipment in 'volume'. So heck with that.
At any rate, I also thought the # of vendors was down this year. Did not even see Toro there, and they are based in MN. Huh?
Did get my new pair of Lawngrips Pro's ($110 value) for only $65. And, its always nice to look at green things in the bleak of winter.
I would like to see admission for the Tradeshow only to be like $10 or less though. A little overpriced for what you get.

Ill be going on Friday and walking through the show on breaks of the recert. Toro should of been at the mn maintence booth (toro, scag, wright) all together unless rich brought less mowers with. For $15 on a niche market show seems fair. I have spent more on less before.

For the discount for a solo it can be a lot if you plan it right. If you buy a exmark rider and vanatage you can save $2500 (15%). On a purchase. After they are out of warranty sell them and repeat. $2500 on a 15k purchase is worth learning about isn't it?

Being a cash no debt business, I am not in the position to drop $15K on any single purchase for a good long time. Maybe some day. For now, its one thing at a time, so that is why I ignore dealers volume talk.

Got it hopefully you will get there. Cash gets a decent discount in itself.

Cash should talk - do you ever do this with a dealer (ex: I got $5K cash in hand, can we swing a little better deal)? I guess my experience is these days, dealers would rather finance. Not sure....

My dealer gives better discounts with cash/checks. Low volume places like the cash. Large volune dealers get better kickbacks financing cards.
