.com,.net,.org

[just pondering]

I'm looking for more traffic to my site and to protect it from others taking the name. My question is is adding all the.net, .org ,etc to your web address helpfull in web search's

I would say no. They would search them as individual websites and if there was no content on the org and net it would ignore them even if there was a pointer to the .com site. It would keep others from having a similar name but org or net or whatever but that is all it would do.
