Hi I have a customer who wants some Arborvitae (Dark American), Chinese Junipers, and Yews cut back. We will be taking off 1/3 off all the shrubs. If I do this now(current highs between 20-35, ground almost frozen) will it harm the plants.

Im in Northern CT.

No this is the time of the year to do restoritive pruneing especialy with the yews. just pay attention of where the cuts are being made and watch for split shattered ends use very sharp tools. Be prepared for the 15 posts after mine saying something totaly different......

i agree with above. not at all a bad time to prune evergreens. i just would not do it if you are in a dry spell due to desication. you will prob get some winter burn, but not really any worse than anyways
