I was told by a dealer that latest sports to be made have a redesigned deck ,is there a significant difference in the quality of the cut between the old vs new design. In prior threads it was stated that the new sports will have 18 hp Kawasaki engines and the Honda will be discontinued , the dealer said that despite the fact the Kawasaki engine is listed as residential the only difference with the commercial engine is the air filtration system .Is this correct information , which engine is heavier duty, and will the 2 hp on the Kawasaki make a difference in the performance of the mower vs the 16hp Honda.

The deck design changed slightly (front inner lip of deck changed for airflow / blowout) and went from being a front swept deck to a rear swept deck about a year ago.
The Kawasaki s on the Sport will be the entry level residential engine, their is also a mid level residential grade, the difference is the air filtration set up.
The Honda is a full commercial engine.
Both are great choices, I would go with your preference / dealers preference.
