I just signed up 3 years with Bluehost for3.95 a month. Happy so far. Plus with that, you get one free domain.

For my remodeling companies website i used yahoo. You get a domain with it, free website templates, can create more email accounts than you will ever use and 24/7 support. I paid maybe $100 for the whole year.

As I was shopping around, I found some pretty good deals. I would think twice about paying their advertised price. Let me explain. When I was searching, I found bluehost for $3.95 a month when I was searching using my laptop. Later I went to bluehost.com on my desktop and it was $6.95 a month. I called them as asked for the $3.95 a month deal. They said they could not and that I would have to go though an affiliate partner. I just did a google search for "3.95 bluehost" and found a few different links for that price. For that price I get almost unlimited everything. I signed a 3 year contract at that price. Also, I can cancel anytime and get my money back for any unused time, same as godaddy.

We use 1and1 (http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=25442089) for our hosting and I can't say enough about the customer service, flexibility to do what we want as far as server side includes, running custom .htaccess, etc. Unlimited bandwidth is nice too and hosting 4 sites for $10 a month can't be beat (basic plans start off at $3.99 a month).

I must say 1and1 was the best i could find, plus depending on the hosting package you get dream weaver or net objects fusion for free.

The hosting plans are great price and they also have 6 months free on there packages for hosting. yes it does start at 3.99 a month for the cheap package ( no free months for that one) but for the other three packages you get three free months. get tools and addons for the sites.

Oh yeah they have 24/7 phone customer support.

I've been using bluehost.com for a long time. No issues with them at all, "Up Time" is great, as is their support when needed. One of the best I have used.

Hey guys, the best host I have found to date is host gator. Amazing customer service.

Next I usually get all my domains as godaddy.com. Just make sure you change the name servers to host gator.

Oh, you might like this tip. inside a host gator account you will find add on domains, this means you can use the same host for as many sites as you want. Just add your new domain to the add on domains and your all set.

Most if not all of your web hosting companies will have some provisioning for multiple sites under one account. The biggest thing with web hosts is how much flexibility they allow with things like server side includes, .htaccess files, forum hosting, different file type support (php, ajax, asp for example) etc.

Those are the big things, people later find out when they have to use a 301 redirect, password protection, or stipulate whether all your pages should be www or none www via a .htaccess file that thier host doesn't support it. Of course that is just one example, but you get the point of checking to see what the host will allow before signing the contract, setting all your eggs in one basket.

You need to understand why some hosts practically give away their services. The following has been my experience using cheap hosts:

Spotty customer service - sometimes good, sometimes non-existent - sometimes you get someone smart, other times you don't
Crowded servers - your website likely shares the same server as hundreds of other websites resulting in times when your pages come up slow
Reliability - possible nightmare scenarios where your site is completely down as they troubleshoot or update your server
Security - cheap hosting companies get hacked all the time and struggle to deal with it, they also might not have your site stored in multiple locations
Confusion - expect this if your registering your domain with one company and hosting it with another

This is why I practically insist that all my web clients use Network Solutions (http://www.networksolutions.com/). It's more expensive but has the best reputation on the planet for hosting and registration. At $10/month (incl. 1 domain) it's not the cheapest but I love using them.

I can attest to host gators great service. I originally registered my domains throu them and my hosting. After paying I found I didn't like the website templates that their affiliates sold. I cancelled my hosting with hostgator and openned an account with godaddy. Two of hostgators affiliates (1 was web template and 1 was a image gallery) refused to credit me back my money. I complained to hostgator and they creditted me back directly and said they would get reimberced from the other companies. I call that great service, I cancel and they still help me get money back from another company.

Know i just have to finish my new site and get it back up

I have found godaddy the worst hosting I have used. It is a totally basic service. No frills, or addons most other providers offer.

Depending on what you want Officelive is 14.95 for the year. I have used it twice now. They give you 5 emails and a lot of online tools such as storage etc.
