hey guys i am getting a proposal together for a large company, it's my first large bid. I have calculated the mulch job at 80yds of basic double shred brown. I am going to have 5 guys helping me. My formula for me on smaller jobs is the amount of yards times 65. How do you get the price if it's me and four other guys. Thanks people.

doesn't answer your question....but....you could probablly have that blown in for about 40 per yard....if you can still get away with charging 65 per yard you'd make 2k just for making a phone call and showing up on the job for a few hours.

i was actually thinking of taking that route. Do they charge a delivery fee also or is it $40 a yard delivered and blown in?

when I had it priced out about to years ago, they were right around 35-40 per yard min thirty yards if I recall. that is everything. you of course are responsible for bed prep.

from my knowledge mulch blowers only use fine triple shredded mulch so just check the bid requirements...but anyway here we purchase double for 15 a yard and charge 55 a yard for large jobs...jobs over 20yrds....just check with the areas...small and tight areas more per yard...large and wide open areas, you can go less because it will take less time

yea I believe it's double they want. I can get it for 22 a yard here. So the $55 you were talking about, thats per man?

no per yard....on a simple/easy mulch install i figure 2 men can truck in/dump/ and spread 30 yards of mulch in a 10 hr period..so....1 man can do 15yrds in a 10 hr period...so....lol....15 yrds of mulch at $15 is $225, then roughly $120 in labor for 10 hrs which is $12 an hr, and ur misc. expense you have to figure out...but for me purchasing at $15 a yard with this ill make $400-$450 in 10 hours off 1 person...for you, your material is already $12 higher so figure your expenses and id take the $55 and add $12 per yard...$62 a yard.......or if you have the man power and you can finish in a day....you'll need 5 people for 10 hrs...at $10 an hr thats $500 or $12 an hr thats $600...your price in mulch $22 a yard is $1760....figure your misc expense fuel or delievery...$2300 in expenses if you didnt add tax lets say $2500... at $62 a yrd $4960....total profit over $2,400 in ten hours and thats with other people doing the work and you supervising

this job might be along side parking lots and can use the truck or a skid steer...youll do very well....BUT...if this job is FULL of plants/Flowers/toys dog piles of &%#^ in the lawn...youll have to put that into consideration for ur estimate

the most ive spread was 2 guys 45yrds in 8hrs...i drove the truck onto the mulch beds and dumped some here and some there because the beds were next to the parking lot and had no plants or trees...that was a job i wish i did every day i worked lol

Thanks again, parma is right outside of cleveland. no land this way, you have to go south about 45-50min if you want a piece of land, it's going cheap here too.
